Odoo implementation cost: what you pay for and what drives the price

Two bills make up an Odoo project: the licence you pay Odoo and the implementation you pay a partner. Here is what moves each.

Updated

An Odoo project has two bills. The first goes to Odoo: licences, charged per user per month. The second goes to the partner who sets Odoo up for you: data migration, module setup and training. Companies often budget for one and discover the other late. This guide separates them, lists what moves the implementation price and shows how Ferrify prices its projects.

Bill one: Odoo licences

Odoo publishes plan prices on odoo.com/pricing. The figures below are as of October 2026, in US dollars per user per month. Billing yearly costs less than billing monthly. For the first 12 months, the users you order at the start get a lower price.

Plan Billed yearly Billed monthly First 12 months, yearly / monthly Apps Hosting
One App Free US$ 0 US$ 0 n/a One app, unlimited users Odoo Online
Standard US$ 8.95 US$ 11.20 US$ 7.25 / 9.10 All apps Odoo Online
Custom US$ 16.40 US$ 20.90 US$ 13.40 / 16.90 All apps, plus Odoo Studio, Agentic AI, Multi-Company and External API Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or on-premise

All plans include unlimited support, hosting and maintenance, with no feature or data limits, per the same page.

What a licence bill looks like. The arithmetic below uses the table above, for a 25-user company billed yearly. It is our calculation, not a quote from Odoo.

Plan First 12 months After the first 12 months
Standard 25 x 7.25 = US$ 181.25 per month 25 x 8.95 = US$ 223.75 per month
Custom 25 x 13.40 = US$ 335.00 per month 25 x 16.40 = US$ 410.00 per month

Check the current prices and your local currency on the page before you decide. Taxes are not part of these figures.

What the licence does not cover. Odoo's pricing page lists these as not included: Odoo.sh hosting for custom developments, implementation and expert services, in-app purchase credits (SMS, contact auto-complete, lead generation, AI bill scanning) and maintenance of custom code. The Odoo.sh hosting price also excludes the Enterprise licence. The hosting guide explains when you need Odoo.sh.

Bill two: the implementation

This is the price of getting your data and your team into Odoo. It depends on five things.

Modules

Every module you switch on needs setup around your process: pipelines and stages in CRM, price lists and quote templates in Sales, charts of accounts and taxes in Accounting. Ferrify sets up eight: CRM, Sales, Accounting, Purchase, Inventory, Manufacturing, Project and Recruiting. Each extra module adds to the price.

Start with the modules your team will use in the first month. A module you switch on but nobody opens still costs licence time and setup time.

Data sources

Each system you move data out of is its own piece of work: its own export or access, its own field mapping, its own checks. One CRM with clean records is a short job. A CRM, two spreadsheets and an old accounting file is three jobs. The migration page lists the sources Ferrify handles, and the HubSpot guide and the Salesforce guide show what one source involves from start to finish.

The state of the data matters as much as the number of sources. Duplicates, half-filled fields and properties nobody uses all need a decision from someone on your side.

Integrations

An integration connects Odoo to a tool you keep, such as a payment service or a mailbox. Each one needs setup, testing and an owner. Ask first whether Odoo's own module replaces the tool. That removes the integration instead of paying to maintain it.

Custom code

Custom code is hard to price in advance. It needs a developer, a place to run it (Odoo.sh, on the Custom plan) and someone to maintain it through upgrades. Odoo lists custom code maintenance as not included in its plans. Ferrify projects include no custom code. If a process can be set up in the standard apps, set it up there.

Training and your team's time

A system the team does not use costs the full licence price and returns nothing. Training and a written runbook are part of the price, not extras. Your own time also counts: Ferrify asks for answers within 2 working days, and a decision-maker who joins the calls. Slow answers stretch the project, and the length of a project is part of what you pay for in management attention.

How Ferrify prices

These are the facts:

  • Projects start at $3,000 per project.
  • Each extra module adds to the price.
  • The price is fixed, and we set it on the call, from your module list.
  • A project takes 2 to 12 weeks, depending on how fast we get answers from your side.
  • The price covers data migration, module setup, team training and a runbook. Odoo licences go directly to Odoo.

Ferrify does not publish a per-module price list, because the data and the process decide the number. You get the number on a 30-minute call.

Questions that move the price on the call

Bring answers to these and the quote gets firmer on the first call.

  • How many systems hold data you want in Odoo, and who can give us access to each?
  • Which modules does the team use in the first month, and which can wait?
  • How many people need an Odoo user, and which of them only view data?
  • Which tools stay, and does each one need a connection to Odoo?
  • Who decides on the project, and can that person join the calls?

We fix the price on the call, so the clearer your answers, the fewer open questions remain.

A budget in four lines

Use this to plan the first year:

  1. Odoo licences: users x plan price x 12, using the first-12-months price where it applies.
  2. Implementation: the fixed price from your partner.
  3. Hosting extras: none on Odoo Online beyond the licence; Odoo.sh is charged separately if you use it.
  4. Internal time: the decision-maker's hours on calls, plus the team's training time.

Add a fifth line only if you plan custom code: developer time now, and maintenance every year.

If you want to pay nothing to Ferrify

Ferrify implements Odoo for free for two companies, in exchange for a named case study, a short video review and a reference. You still pay Odoo for licences. The pilot page lists who fits and what we need from you. If you are already on Odoo and the team works around it, the tune-up is priced after an audit. For the full service, see implementation.

Questions and answers

How much does an Odoo implementation cost?

Ferrify projects start at $3,000. Each extra module adds to the price, and we fix the price on the call. Odoo licences are a separate monthly cost paid to Odoo.

Is the price fixed or hourly?

Fixed. Ferrify sets one price for the project on the call, from your module list, before work starts.

Are Odoo licences included in the implementation price?

No. You pay Odoo licences directly to Odoo. Ferrify's price covers migration, module setup, training and the runbook.

Does custom code change the price?

Yes, and Ferrify projects include none. Custom code needs Odoo.sh, which is available on the Custom plan, and someone has to maintain it.

Can we get an Odoo implementation for free?

Ferrify offers a free implementation to two companies that fit its pilot profile and agree to a case study, a video review and a reference. See the pilot page.
